Greetings, I have been invited to relocate my private MFT practice to a local physical health clinic ( Chiroractors, Massage therapists, Physiotherapists, Naturopaths). They have a central filing system and reception process. I am aware of the confidentiality concerns and need for client privacy with files but I’m less clear about matters of client “ownership” for want of a better description. This becomes more of a concern when clients I may see would be referred by the other professionals in the office. Another matter is the central billing process wherein some elements of client confidentiality are already “out there.” I have operated independently for 20 years and these concerns are new for me. I’m hoping that a member who works in a similar setting may have some recommendations as to how to approach these concerns. I have no committed to joining as yet but now must move my practice out of my residence.
